• Three months later …
• Madison and Jared had opted to stay at home for Christmas with me instead of going to the farm with the rest of my brothers. We were training hard, and our first game was against the Islanders in our home arena.
• We had all settled in nicely and we had started the procedure for me to adopt Jared, and it was all smooth sailing. We had one court appearance to finalize everything and then Jared would legally be my son and change his surname to Hawthorne.
