• The next morning Endri and Luke arrived just before I had to leave for practice. They would drop Jared off at school and I knew that I had to make more permanent arrangements for him. I was distracted and Coach yelled at me four times as I got slammed into the plastic by my teammates.
• “What the hell is wrong with you today?” Justin asked me irritably. I was always the one to look out for, I caged people in, not the other way around.
• “I’ve got a lot on my mind,” I said as I pushed him off me and skated away.
