Chapter 62 The Next Morning

• The next morning, Bert was finally discharged from the hospital. Vangie allowed him to stay at their house while he recovered. Bert had requested it, and Vangie couldn’t refuse. Bert’s parents were quick to agree as well, and it wasn’t a problem with Macy either.
• Vangie cheerfully cooked chicken adobo for dinner. Meanwhile, Bert and Joseph were in the living room. She let Macy go with Sheila for the day, so it was just the three of them at home.
• Vangie couldn’t help but smile as she watched Bert and Joseph together. Bert was watching TV while Joseph played beside him. Every now and then, Bert would reach over and play with the boy. She sighed deeply. She hadn’t told Bert yet what he truly was in Joseph’s life.
