Chapter 38 Dealing With Steven

• My phone rings for maybe the hundredth time, but I still haven’t answered. Steven can keep calling, but I won’t answer until I have a solid plan. Nokio has been fielding calls as well, and I know we can’t do this much longer. We have to figure out where to take Neela to make sure she’s safe from that monster that’s her husband. If I thought alerting the authorities would help her, I would do that, but I’m pretty sure it would do no good against him and Paxton Industries.
• Neela is still out due to her injuries, but I think that’s probably best for her at this point. She needs to heal, and reliving what happened won’t help. We are going to have to get to the pier pretty soon if we want to keep up appearances.
