Chapter 74 The Moon Goddess
- Eve didn’t know what had happened, where she was now, or whether she was still alive. Her body trembled violently, her vision blurred, and she couldn’t hear anything. The first thing she thought about was Chase. Was he okay? Would Eve be able to hold him again, see him smile, feel the warmth of his body in her embrace?
- In the midst of thoughts torn between grief and fear, Eve saw an incredibly bright light descending from somewhere impossibly high, splitting apart the darkness surrounding her and slowly allowing her to see her surroundings. She was still in that room. She saw John standing in front of her, and Isaac holding Chase in a dangerous position. But there was something strange about all of them; not a single one moved, not even breathed. They looked like terrible display statues in the middle of the ruined room.
- As Eve stared at the strange sight, from the corner of her eye, she noticed a white light slowly descending from the sky and stopping in front of her. The light gradually transformed into a figure that left Eve mesmerized; a woman cloaked in silver mist, with long, wavy hair drifting as though underwater.
