• What Lucas did for Eve last night was truly remarkable. He understood her exhaustion and immediately took over. In a quiet, thoughtful way, Lucas managed to soften Eve’s heart and dissolve the anger that had been building in her chest all day, waiting to spill out.
• This morning, Eve woke up feeling much more refreshed. Chase was sleeping soundly after Lucas had woken her up a few hours earlier to nurse him, and then she had fallen asleep again.
