• Even though Eve already knew the general outline of her father’s will, since he had once mentioned it, she still felt anxious in the moments before it was read. It was possible that Berlina had influenced her father to change the will before his death, or had done something underhanded, like replacing it with a fake one, or even colluding with Mr. Green.
• She could only hope her fears wouldn’t come true.
• Mr. Green adjusted his glasses before focusing on the document. He frowned briefly, lowering his gaze to take in the entire contents of the will.
