• Deston and Rula’s anniversary party had come to an end. The guests were starting to leave the Darrel family’s luxurious mansion, though a few lingered to chat with Deston, Olsen, and Ernest.
• Ernest had arrived at the party with Maisie and Gilda. Still, he and Kimberly hadn’t exchanged a single word. In truth, Kimberly always kept her distance whenever her father was around. Even so, she never showed any open hostility toward the middle-aged man. She remained composed, greeting everyone with a polite smile.
