• Some men won't take no for an answer and end up pushing their way into the lives of women at the most inconvenient time. And this was such a time. Nicholette had a bone to pick with Rafe and this bone could very well change everything she felt and how Erbe dealt with all of the werewolves.
• But Theobald was not such a man. As he stood discombobulated in the dining room, watching the decoration being taken down and the floor being wiped, he thought to himself whether he should have been more forward and put his foot down with Nicholette. What kind of man was he, after all? Maybe he didn't know it, but he was just the kind of man he needed to be. He is a captain and as a military man, he observed orders, procedures and instructions, as if any other way could crumble a strategy into particles and cost people's lives.
