Chapter 20 A Howl In The Distance

• Nicholette closed the buttons on her shapely dress in front of the mirror. The initiate's tunic laid at her feet, which she would have washed and returned to the Academy. She did not feel like an initiate anymore, even if her career was not yet one month old. To the best of her memory, no Huntress had been inside a werewolf village and lived to tell the tale. No Huntress had actively talked to a werewolf and learned of their ways. Nicholette came close to taste their cooking and cuddle their cubs and that was more experience than most Huntresses had ever had.
• But she couldn't safely state that no Huntress had ever kissed a wolf. Beatrice confessed she did, albeit her short brisk words led Nicholette to believe they were a seductive resource to kill them. Maybe that was more common than Nicholette cared to reason.
• When Nicholette came down the stairs to the living room, Raquel and Amaranta were the first to jump her and hug her.
