Chapter 27 A Werewolf From Another Clan

• Nicholette heard loud yells, growls and shrieks through her shut eyes. The Huntress, with all her training, was caught by surprise by a werewolf and on the ground, all she managed to do was brace herself for the deadly strike, which didn't come. She opened her eyes and didn't see anything in front of her. In a flash she was on her feet with her silver dagger up and searching for tender tissue where to strike.
• The werewolf stood fang and claw in front of Corinth who was by now on its hind legs, digging through the air with the hooves, like a boxer looking for a breach in the defenses. The two titans measured each other, trading lighter, quick blows and death threats in their own voices. The werewolf, being smarter, steeped to circle the horse and try to eat its flank, but Nicholette wasn't about to let Corinth take the fall and flee for her life. In the same move she had shown Theobald, she climbed the wolf's back and aimed the dagger at its neck.
• Nicholette felt thankful that she had stuck to the creed of the Huntresses and was not alone.
