Chapter 11 Nicholette Marches Into The Night

  • “Nicholette, what have you gotten yourself into?” Nicholette thought to herself when Rafe let go of her wrist and she saw herself surrounded.
  • The other Huntresses had fled, she saw. She knew the girls wouldn't normally abandon her, but once cut off from their strategic formation, she might as well be dead. Only, she wasn't dead. She was surrounded by three of the biggest creatures she ever saw standing. They were like a fortified wall of fur-coated steel. She looked around for an escape, but her sword laid on the ground a few feet away. Her dagger was still strapped to her waist. They hadn't searched her, but she would have to choose very carefully when to use it. She was fast, but she now knew not to underestimate the beast's speed. Rafe turned to go back to camp and Nicholette didn't move. One of his companions nudged her to follow. His nudge almost knocked her off her feet.
  • She walked with them, Rafe in front, his tail swinging mildly, the two other werewolves flanking her. None of them said a thing or even looked at her.
