• Doing the voiceover for Count Charles turned out to be an unexpected source of comfort. Inside the soundproof studio, whenever I slipped fully into the role, all those intrusive memories finally quieted and gave me room to breathe, even if only for a short while.
• The director praised me for “capturing the character’s balance of toughness and vulnerability.” I smiled and thanked him, knowing that the reason I could portray that mix so well was because I was going through something painfully similar myself.
