Chapter 42
- Aurora’s POV
- Sunlight spilled over the edge of the forest like warm golden honey. When I opened my eyes, tiny droplets of last night’s rain still clung to my eyelashes. The sky after the storm looked unbelievably blue, like a canvas scrubbed clean a thousand times and left perfectly pure.
- I shook the leaves from my fur and shifted back into my human form. A dull ache spread through my muscles as I exhaled slowly. A short distance away, my clothes and phone rested on the moss, their edges damp with morning dew and sparkling under the sunlight.
