• Stepping out of the audition room, I finally felt a bit of relief. Hopefully, nothing else would go wrong today. But the moment I spotted Grace, a sharp wave of unease crashed into me. After everything that happened with the kidnapping, I knew better than to think she would ever miss a chance to cause trouble.
• I touched the inside of my jacket collar, where I had hidden a tiny camera no larger than a button. Last time, I only exposed the truth because of the recording on my phone. Brown told me the security cameras conveniently “broke” that day, making it clear just how easy it was for certain people to erase evidence.
