Chapter 153
- John’s POV
- "I guess I was damn blind!" She cut me off, her voice shrill as shattering glass. That icy calm finally crumbled, and a tidal wave of rage and bottomless grief surged in to take its place. "I was blind for four whole years! What, do you want me to keep screwing up and stay blind for the rest of my life?" Her chest rose and fell violently. Her eyes burned with rage and… undisguised self-loathing.
- "Honestly," she laughed, colder than ice, "when I think of all the stupid crap I did for you over those four years, I feel sick with regret." She stared straight at me, naked mockery in her eyes. "Just because you appeared out of nowhere like an angel when I was being bullied? Heh… I didn’t even see what you really were—human or mongrel—and foolishly gave you my whole damn heart. Back then, I was hopeless, pitifully stupid."
