Chapter 136
- John’s POV
- "Call me blind!" She cut me off brusquely. Her voice shot up, sharp as shattering glass. That icy calm finally crumbled, swallowed by a tidal wave of rage and a bottomless kind of grief. "I was blind for four whole years! What, am I supposed to keep screwing up and stay blind for the rest of my life?!" Her chest rose and fell violently. Fire blazed in her eyes—rage and a healthy dose of self-loathing.
- "To be honest," she laughed coldly—colder than ice. "When I think of all the stupid crap I’ve done for you over these four years, I regret it so much it makes me sick." She stared straight at me, open contempt in her eyes. "Just because you rushed over like some damn hero when I was being bullied? Heh… I didn’t even know if you were a man or a dog, and like an idiot, I gave you my whole heart. Back then, I was beyond saving. Stupid to the bone."
