• Ethan didn’t push me away, but he didn’t exactly lean into me either. His huge wolf head gently brushed against my cheek, a low, soothing rumble vibrating in his throat. Then, with a smooth, fluid motion, he slipped out from beneath me and landed solidly on all fours.
• “Awooo!” he let out a short, sharp call before turning and heading deeper into the thick forest. His pace wasn’t rushed, but there was no mistaking the quiet authority in his stride.
