Chapter 67

  • A deafening explosion shattered the calm night, jolting every wolf in the pack from their slumber. The ground trembled beneath them, but Lupa, always alert, was already on her feet. She rushed outside, her eyes scanning the treeline, then she saw cascade of missiles lit up the sky, slamming into their protective barrier, but all they did was erupt into vibrant, colourful lights.
  • Wolves poured out from their homes, their instincts sharp, but instead of fear, there was curiosity. The explosions didn’t cause panic as Christian, and his men had anticipated. Instead, the pack marvelled at the dazzling spectacle, like fireworks against the night sky. Lupa stood tall, her eyes narrowing as she saw Christian’s men positioned just beyond the barrier, frantically firing round after round, hoping to break through.
  • Lupa’s smirk was barely visible in the darkness, but it was there, a sign of her confidence and control. Christian Lowe, standing on a ridge with his men, barked orders. His frustration was clear, his usual tactic of striking fear into his enemies was failing. He had expected the pack to be disoriented, scrambling in confusion. Instead, they were watching him, unimpressed.
