Chapter 1

  • “It’s a girl,’’ the man said, holding up the baby with bright blue eyes for the father to see.
  • ‘’I cannot accept that thing as my child!’’ the Alpha roared. ‘’For one, I am supposed to have a son! But instead, this useless woman bore me a daughter, and an omega at that.’’
  • Out of rage, the Alpha slapped the newborn out of the doctor’s hand, causing her to give one loud scream before going silent.
  • ‘’If it is dead, bury it. If not, get rid of it.’’
  • He then turned hateful eyes to his mate. ‘’As for you, today is the day you meet your end. Since you cannot bring forth a son to be my heir, then your life I will sniff out.’’
  • The weakened woman cried, trying to beg for her life and the life of her newborn as well.
  • The Alpha scoffed. ‘’Take her to the dungeon, her execution will come at dusk.’’
  • Before leaving, the Alpha cast his eyes on the floor where the baby lay silent. He spat in its direction, telling himself that he must be cursed to have five daughters now, and just like the rest, he will make sure that this one is dead.
  • The Alpha believed that only boys could be Alpha, and if they were born female then they would have red eyes. So far, all his daughters had brown, hazel, or green eyes. And in the wolf world, blue meant that the wolf was Omega, the reject of the pack.
  • ‘’Female and an Omega. How pathetic,’’’’ he said before leaving.
  • Just before the mother was dragged out of the room, she begged her mid-wife for help. ‘’Please, do not let this one suffer the same faith. She deserves to live like anybody else.’’
  • *****
  • The night skies cracked with lightning, as rain poured down into an open basket which held the newborn baby that was long rejected by her father, and pack.
  • She was seen as nothing but the weakest link, which is unacceptable, especially in their pack, where everyone has to fend for themselves. Both young and old.
  • ‘’We need a safe place to weather the storm,’’ the woman said.
  • The baby just stared up at her, not crying or fussing.
  • She eventually found a small cave they could stay in until the rain let up, the place was cold and damp, but she thought it would do, as long as it meant keeping the baby safe.
  • There was a growl, the woman who was too tired to put up a fight, used the last of her strength to ward off anyone that might want to do them harm. A man who had his chest bare, entered the cave. He had a disgusted look on his face.
  • ''You and that thing is traspassing."
  • ''This thing is a child, are you too dumb or blind to see that?''
  • He growled. "Whatever it is, you both are on my land.''
  • ''And we are seeking asylum, if not for me, then please at least give her a chance to live.''
  • The man made motion to someone behind him. "Take them to the holding cell, when morning come, I will decide what to do with them.''
  • The two men who came, tried to take the child away, but the woman held her fast. "Wherever I go, she goes.''
  • ''Just take them.''
