Chapter 10

  • With a groan, Lupa’s eyelids fluttered open. She slapped herself across the face to wake herself up and, with another groan, she sat up.
  • “What the heck?’’ she asked and looked around, wondering how she ended up in the middle of the strawberry field.
  • She then held her face because it felt as if a brick had hit her. When she got to her feet, she stumbled, and the ringing in her ear was almost deafening. Looking around, Lupa noticed several things. There were scorch marks on the ground, so was dried blood, and most of the strawberry bushes had been rooted up.
