Chapter 54 Nicole

• There I was, standing in front of Nicholas's door, my heart racing with anticipation and nerves. I've been thinking about another way to approach him but nothing sounds appropriate aside from meeting him in his room.
• After so much practice, I can't get myself to knock, I'm frozen on the spot. ‘You can do this Nicole’, my subconscious encouraged me. Taking in a deep breath, I summoned the courage to knock. My hand trembles slightly as I tap on the door, the sound echoing through the silence.
• A part of me wanted him to be awake, but the cowardly part of me wanted him to be asleep. That way, he wouldn't hear me knock.
