• “Your husband called me, and he asked me to call him back when you get to work.” Amanda didn't wait for me to settle down before she poured out her mind. I know Nicholas was worried about me, but calling Amanda at every opportunity he got was similar to him tracking my whereabouts.
• “You can call him back to tell him that I have gotten to work. I would like to know if he would add you to his payroll to keep tabs on me?” I told her, making sure she understood the message I was trying to pass to her.
• “Nicholas is just concerned about you. He can't help but call me if you are not answering your phone.” Amanda's lips turned up as she raised her eyebrows at me.
