• With determination burning within me, I pressed down on the accelerator, feeling the car surge forward as I sped home. My mind was only focused on saving my marriage, either by making him understand me or forcing him to understand me. Either way, one of these must work out today.
• As I pulled into the familiar driveway, I felt a sense of urgency wash over me. I pulled the car into the park and got out, my feet carrying me swiftly towards the front door of the house.
• I pushed it open and stepped inside, my eyes scanning the living room as if searching for Nicholas, but he wasn't in the living room. Inhaling sharply, I braced myself ready to face whatever lay ahead of me.
