• I pace around the living room, stealing glances at Nicholas, who is engrossed in his book. I'm sure the sound of my footsteps wouldn't let him concentrate on the book in his hands, but I was willing to do more than that. I'm determined to have a proper conversation with Nicholas.
• When we concluded the meeting with George, he had disappeared away from the house. He left home early before I woke up and got back when I was deeply asleep. This had been the routine until today, and I am not willing to miss this opportunity.
