Chapter 25 Nicole

• I dropped Amanda off at her place and I really appreciated her for coming with me for shopping. I stepped on the gas as I drove home. This was one of the days that I really looked forward to going home to Nicholas.
• Retrieving the grocery bags from my car, I fumbled with them until I got inside the house. The house was awfully quiet and that was suspicious. Disappointment settled on me like a heavy cloak as it came to my notice that Nicholas wasn't home.
• My stomach sank as I dropped the bags on the floor with a loud thud. I felt a wave of sadness settle on me as I fumbled for my phone. I should call Nicholas to know what he was doing at the moment. No, I should text him instead. I battled with myself and settled for a text.
