Chapter 35 Nicole

• Twelve months earlier
• “Where have you been? I have been worried about you.” It was obvious my mother was worried about me with the way she talked. With a forced smile on my face, I moved closer to her and pulled her into a hug.
• Pulling out of the hug, I fixed my gaze on her face, her eyes were heavy from crying and lack of sleep. That was something we had in common. My eyebags were obvious and dark circles sat pretty around them.
