- “Mr. Reed,” she said, her voice low but fierce, “you should not have talked to him like that, especially when I was there. You made me feel small, and I won’t stand for it.”
- Austin’s expression was icy, his cold eyes narrowing as he regarded her. “What’s wrong with what I said?” he replied, his tone laced with frustration. “Did you forget we just got married?"
