• Austin sat in the vehicle, his facial contortion angry. Taking a deep breath, he answered the phone in an effort to steady himself. He said, sounding normal, "Hey, Dad."
• On the other end of the line, his father's enthusiastic voice said, "Austin, I just spoke to your girlfriend, Sara. She is delightful. I had no idea regarding you were seeing someone.”
• Austin's eyes opened in astonishment, and he turned to glance at Sara, who was observing her with a smug face. She made him extremely angry, but he tried to remain calm.
