Chapter 57

  • The alcohol began to work and Sara’s head started to feel off-balance. Her sight was hazy and she slipped a little as she grabbed the bar to stay steady. She lost track of everything for a brief second—love for Christopher, the problems with Austin and all her other troubles. She was really enjoying feeling lazy and easygoing.
  • It was then that she could make out the voice. “Look who we have join us tonight.” The familiar tone sent a shiver down her spine. She walked off and looked up and it was at that moment that she saw him. Standing by was Franklin Jenkins, looking very pleased with himself.
  • Sara made her face look smaller as she stared at him. It had been some time since she saw him, but all the memories came back to her. He made her days at work utterly unbearable, always looking for ways to bother and embarrass her. She wanted to escape him, so she quit and even he tried to block her path to a new employment.
