Chapter 82 Best Friend

• MAX’S POV
• It has been a while since I had a nice sleep like this, especially with Amaya beside me. She became one of my comfort zones after I realized I was already in love with her. But as I turned my head on the other side of the bed, she was gone and I also noticed that I may have been asleep for a while now. I tried to peek from the curtains to know if it was still night time but the sun almost blinded me with its brightness. It was morning already so I proceeded in opening the rest of the curtains so it may give more warmth to Amaya’s bed. Not that last night was not enough but also since sun rays may also have their benefits. And since I am already naked, I think it would be best to just go to the bathroom straight. After taking a bath I went straight to the other floor where the kitchen was yet I didn’t see Amaya there. She did leave a note though saying that my breakfast is on the table so I went to the dining room where a plate is covered with a silver cloche and looked under it. It was bacon and eggs with a little side of vegetables. It was a mouthful breakfast and I did not hesitate to dig in since we haven’t got our proper dinner last night. Though that meal was better. This morning felt so peaceful to me. Most of the time, I would wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. Either coming from assistants or Liam. Coffee and pre-works are often my breakfasts. So yeah, I guess you could say that I don’t have that ideal work-life balance. But I’ve got a strong feeling that this day will be a good day.
• After eating, I went down to Amaya’s office and saw no one again. It’s a literally quiet day indeed but I don’t think it will make my day complete without seeing her early in the morning. She is supposed to greet me with a good morning kiss or hug not a ‘Good Morning’ note. Damn, Where is she? Even her assistant is not here. Where are you, Babe? Should I call her instead? Though hold on, where the heck is my phone anyway? Now that’s why I didn’t receive any call because I just lost my phone! I never keep it away that much so how? Now come on Max, Think! Maybe I dropped it?
