Chapter 6 A Gentle Beauty

  • F*ck! Melody had fallen down just now, so her injured leg had probably gotten more serious! Baffled, I didn’t know what to do. That sl*t doesn’t deserve to be saved! Despite the fact that I knew that, my mind still went blank as I walked toward her.
  • Terrified, Melody threw herself at me. Suppressing a shiver, I carried her up and walked out of there. Instead of running, I walked away slowly. Seeing that the bear still had its paw on top of Dante’s body, I knew that it obviously wanted us to get lost!
  • At the same time, Rosalie crawled up and followed after me. Icy with panic, she was fearfully hugging my arms.
  • Carrying Melody in my arms, I stepped on the reefs and climbed my way up. As the gray dawn was approaching, I started to be able to see more clearly.
  • “Slowly, slowly… Don’t startle it.” Rosalie wept softly, shedding tears of fear.
  • Making sure that every step taken was steady, I knew that if I wasn’t careful, the bear might mistake me for having the urge to attack. The bear was startled earlier because Melody had fallen down from the reefs.
  • When we were about to reach the top, I could almost feel the bear’s breathing getting closer behind us.
  • The moment I saw Rosalie was about to turn her head around to look out of fear, I gritted my teeth and warned, "Don't look back! Whatever you do, don't look back. Once you've looked at its eyes, it'll all be over!"
  • Sobbing beneath her breath, Rosalie buried her head within my arm and grabbed on me as we continued to climb up. A while ago, our relationship was about to go down the drain, but now, with the bear and with Dante dead, we had become temporary comrades. At last, we had finally reached the top.
  • “Don’t run. Let’s walk further away,” I whispered. As we gradually walked further away, I could no longer hear the bear’s sound from behind us.
  • Once we were quite a distance away, I turned around to sneak a peek, and I realized the bear had walked toward the opposite direction. Fortunately, it didn’t run after us, neither did it eat Dante. Maybe it was already full from just now...
  • Letting out a sigh of relief, I collapsed on the sandy beach as my legs turned wobbly. Even both Melody and Rosalie went weak at the knees and couldn’t remain standing.
  • Without a warning, Melody began to burst out crying.
  • “Melody, we are safe now. Why are you still crying?” Rosalie tried to comfort her.
  • “Jonathan, I’m sorry...” Melody said as she cried. “I’ve treated you so badly, but you still saved me. I’m really the worst!”
  • Inside, I felt saddened. All these years, I had been wronged, but I had gotten used to it. If they didn’t apologize, I would just go on with life while festering resentment in me, but now that she had apologized, I felt so upset to a point that I could feel my eyes were about to go wet with tears.
  • With a complicated expression, Rosalie gazed at me. From her looks, I could tell that she went through a hell of a day and I too, didn’t know how she planned to face me. Wiping off the blood stain from the corner of her mouth, Rosalie said softly, “Thank you for saving my mom. I’ll treat what you’ve done to me today as it didn’t happen. Come, I’ll bring you to the place with water supplies and I will convince them to accept you.”
  • “I won’t go. You better don’t go on your own as well.”
  • “Why?”
  • “Since the forest is dangerous, why would he come looking for you in the dark? Was he not afraid of danger? Besides, he came alone without anyone with him. This only meant that there was something wrong with the forest.”
  • Shocked, Rosalie asked, “Are you serious?”
  • “If there’s water supply, that’s exactly the most dangerous place to go!” Gazing at Rosalie’s eyes, I added, “Tell me the location. I’ll go on my own to check out that place. Your dad was the one who taught me that as a man, we need to protect our family. Though I hate you, I’ll still protect you to repay your dad for raising me up.”
  • There was a sudden change of expression on her face when she heard that I hated her. Clearly, she didn’t expect that even an ugly guy like me would hate her.
  • In the end, she told me to go into the forest until I reached a crossroad. Upon taking the right turn, it would lead me to a small lake. While I went on to check the place out, Rosalie would be staying with Melody to take care of her.
  • Instead of rushing my way into the forest, I made a detour back to Dante—he was found dead. For unknown reasons, I wasn’t scared at all when I saw him dead, but I savored the feeling of quiet contentment. Good riddance!
  • Taking off Dante’s clothes, I rinsed it through with the seawater and took the skirt with me while I was at it. Before I left, I checked through Dante’s pockets and much to my surprise, I found a treasure—a lighter. Though it was only a cheap lighter, it could still function after getting soaked in water. On this deserted island, the lighter was indeed a precious treasure.
  • When I walked back to them, I threw them the clothes and asked them to put it on. In fact, one of them was without pants, while the other one was only wearing panties; both of them looked simply attractive. If anyone else were to notice them, they would surely lay their hands on these two sex kittens.
  • After that, Rosalie put on the skirt, while Melody wore the flowery short pants. However, Melody was complaining that the pants looked horrendous. Rolling my eyes at her complaints, I told her that it would be better than not having any pants on.
  • After giving it some thought, Melody slipped both her legs into one side of the pants and folded the other side. Now, it looked like she was wearing a tight-fitting short skirt, accentuating the beautiful curves right down to her hips. It was such a sensual sight that I felt hot gushes pulsing through my veins.
  • Dumbfounded, I questioned her for wearing it in such a way. Then, her answer baffled me, for she said that if she were to die on this deserted island, she would rather die prettily. I simply couldn’t understand this woman’s logic.
  • As soon as I entered the forest, I followed the directions as Rosalie had instructed. Within the forest, there were weeds all around, and the ground was filled with dried leaves. Every so often, there were weird sounds coming from the forest, which gave me the shivers. It made me wonder how Dante could actually walk all the way in the dark and all by himself.
  • About ten minutes later, I had reached the little lake. The body of water was in the shape of a square. From the looks of it, it was difficult to tell where the water came from or where the water flowed to. Logically speaking, if this was a pool of stagnant water, it would have smelled awful, but it didn’t.
  • At the side of the lake, there was no one to be seen, until I found a shoe by the shore, which looked rather new. Perhaps something happened here, which was why someone had probably left in a hurry and dropped a shoe here.
  • Regardless of what happened, I needed to make sure to fetch some water. Taking out the empty bottle, I filled it up with water and I couldn’t resist taking a few mouthfuls myself. It’s simply refreshing! As expected, nature's spring water tastes absolutely clean.
  • “Jonathan?” While I was by the lake, someone called my name from behind. Startled, I immediately turned around and saw a lady standing before me. She was a member of the student council of our class—Jovie Ellis.
  • Besides Rosalie, she was known as the other beauty in our class. As compared to the arrogant and despotic Rosalie, Jovie was more of a pure and innocent beauty who was humble, studious and kind-hearted. Even for a person like me, she would help me out by speaking up for me.
  • If Rosalie’s X factor was being the sexual fantasy of all the boys in school, Jovie was the goddess whom everyone could only gape from afar with adoration. With her school uniform on, she looked simply gentle and lovely under the sunlight.
  • The sight of her made me choke on the water. Then, I wiped my mouth clean. “Jovie, you’re alright! Thank goodness!”
  • “Are you concerned for me? I’ve been looking for you. Actually, I have something that I wish to tell you, but I hope you won’t be frightened by it.”
  • “What’s wrong?”
  • With her cheeks turned pink, Jovie said in a serious manner, “Can you take my virginity?”
