  • Xavier couldn't believe what he had received. He was in so much shock that he took the rest of the evening off. The only link connected to his mother's death was dead—murdered. He regretted not pursuing him sooner. It was starting to become evident that the events leading up to his mother's death weren't entirely an accident... But until it was proven, he still held himself fully responsible for her death in his heart.
  • Seated in his dimly lit home office, Xavier swirled the vodka in his glass, the amber liquid mirroring the emptiness that he felt in his chest. The condo's silence was deafening, the butler having been dismissed for the evening. As he stared at the half empty glass, his thoughts drifted to Amber with regret etched on his face.
  • “You always remind me of her.” He whispered, his voice laced with guilt. “I was out of line, I should apologize.”
