Chapter 13

• Xavier's eyes fluttered open, the sun streaming in through the window. He groggily turned, only to find Amber's face just a few inches away from his, he froze and as if on cue, Amber abruptly opened her eyes giving him quite a scare. He quickly sat up and pulled away from the bed,
• "What are you doing here?" he asked gruffly, his voice laced with a mix of embarrassment and confusion, he suddenly realized he was shirtless.
• Amber sat up and quickly tried to explain, "I had to take it off, you were burning up. I was just making sure—"
