Chapter 47

• Amber walked into the house, still struggling with the guilt of accepting Mr Han’s offer, she didn’t know she would bring herself to lie to Xavier. As she entered the living room, she was startled by a loud crackling sound. She jumped, and that's when she saw Xavier, grinning mischievously, holding a cracker.
• The room was filled with pink balloons, and the coffee table had a small cake with pink frosting and a card that read “Congratulations, Mom & Dad!” Amber's eyes widened in surprise. Xavier had sent everyone home early and planned a small surprise celebration.
• “Hey,” Xavier smiled as he walked over to Amber, “I just wanted to make today a little special,” he said, noticing her surprised expression. “I know we already found out the gender at the hospital, but I thought we could still celebrate at home, just the two of us.”
