• Pierce was lost in thought, staring at Amber's photo on his phone, when Sophia descended the stairs. She caught him off guard, her gaze lingering on the image before shifting to his face.
• Sophia's expression remained neutral, but Pierce sensed a flicker of surprise. She didn't comment, instead saying, “I'm meeting up with friends. See you later.”
• Pierce pocketed his phone, feeling slightly guilty, even though it was obvious that she didn’t care about what he did. “Hey, have you congratulated Amber on her new project?” he asked, attempting to sound casual.
