Chapter 170 Hundred And Seventy

  • ARIEL’S POV
  • I sat frozen in the doctor’s office, my whole body trembling as his words replayed in my head. Pregnant, I couldn’t move. My mind felt split in two—one half racing with panic, the other refusing to believe this was real.
  • Somehow, I managed to stumble out of the office, nodding numbly when the doctor told me I needed to rest. Rest? How did anyone rest with news like this? My legs carried me on autopilot, down the too-bright halls of the hospital until I found myself at Ryan’s room. I saw him through the window, bandaged, unconscious, his chest rising and falling steadily and I broke apart silently. I didn’t even dare to go in at first. I just sat in the hallway, sliding down against the wall like my knees couldn’t hold me anymore. I hugged my arms around myself and tried to stop the tears from spilling, but they came anyway, hot and relentless.
