Chapter 119 Hundred And Nineteen

  • RYAN’S POV
  • My eyes moved to the shattered cup on the floor, tea pooling like a mess no one cared to clean yet, and then to Maya’s arm still raised, frozen midair as if she’d been caught stealing, and finally to Ariel’s hands fingers laced so tight together her knuckles were bone-white. She was holding herself back, locking herself in because she didn’t trust what might come out if she let go. My blood spiked instantly. I didn’t need anyone to tell me what had happened. I knew Maya too well. I knew her games, her manipulations, the way she thrived on chaos. She had been trouble since the first day she stepped into Ariel’s life.
  • “Are you out of your damn mind?” The words ripped out, rough and loud enough to make her flinch, a growl rolling up with them that I didn’t even try to hide. My hands gripped the wheels hard, shoving forward fast. The chair jerked as I slammed into place between them, blocking Maya from Ariel, my body angling just enough to keep my mate shielded. I felt Ariel tense behind me, like she was trying to decide if she should stay or walk away. I didn’t care. My wolf was already clawing at my skin, demanding I rip into someone.
