• A sudden sadness tugged at my heart seeing that Alpha Ryan had indeed slept in the guest room. I’d expected him to creep back into bed, maybe have changed his mind. I wasn’t certain if I was more worried about him getting angry about the mention of Bryan and calling our arrangement to an end...
• Or if it was merely because I’d gotten attached to him in some sort of way that confused even me. Clearing my throat, I sat up in bed to see the ointment he’d used on me last night was by the desk, some drugs and water too.
