• We reached our seats, and Adrian held out my chair with a gallant gesture. I sat down, and he took his seat beside me, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled.
• I kept on staring at him occasionally, my mind still filled with what the emcee said about the last year's gala. I wanted to know who he attended the event with, I wanted all the details. But then, I was just trying to be in his good book again after what happened, I didn’t want anything that’ll upset him. I still didn’t have the right to probe into his personal affairs as a wife on contract.
