• Laura's POV:
• One of Maxwell's old friends, George who he had issues with in the past was the one that helped me. When he first reached out to me, I thought it was all a trap, but after a while, I called him back. I was willing to take the risk. Anything to go away from Maxwell and be in control of my life once again.
• The ride to Serena's place was quiet. It was such an awkward moment between two former best friends. I glanced at her momentarily through the rare mirror. Each time I did, I met her teary eyes and looked away. I didn't have the nerve to ask for her forgiveness, I feared she wouldn't forgive me. Maybe later, when everyone had healed to an extent, we might sort out our differences, or who knows, we might never reconcile.
