Chapter 167 I Was Ready To Fight
- Adrian's POV:
- Staying away from Serena wasn't easy, knowing I was at fault. But I had to slow down, she had rejected my calls, ignored my messages and pleas, and the second time I went to see her, the maid didn't let me in. It was so embarrassing that a maid I employed to assist her father denied me access to my wife. I didn't blame her though, she was probably acting on instructions, maybe if Serena's father was around, he would have done worse. Of course, I expected him to support and protect his daughter, I understood his frustration, but I also thought after a while he would reach out and help us patch things up. He didn't, maybe it was Serena who didn't want me back into her life. I had to learn to live without her.
- At this point, nothing mattered so much anymore. I wasn't so bothered about the CEO position at the company anymore, neither was I bothered about my reputation or what people would say about our separation. A lot had happened and I just wanted peace. I wanted to look out for myself too, to be strong for the days ahead. As long as there's life, there's hope, right?
