• I had left the Finance company disappointed. I wanted to tell Adrian everything, but first, find a way to make him promise to help me as Maxwell already had plans to blackmail me. I couldn’t wait for him to return from work and for some reason, I felt having the conversation there would make him listen to me without raising his voice or walking out on me. Maybe I was wrong, he threw me out of his office at the slightest opportunity. His so-called best friend had to show up and ruin everything as if he had been monitoring my whereabouts.
• As I got back into the mansion, I couldn't help but wonder what Adrian would do when he arrived back home. He would definitely be angry that I visited him at the office without any prior notice or invitation.
