• Laura and I had reconciled and been in touch since the day I saw her at the Café shop. During one of our conversations, I told her of my plans to see my dad within the week, and she said she would love to go with me, saying that she hadn’t seen my dad in a long time and it was only reasonable for her to pay him a visit at the hospital.
• He was like a father to her while we lived in the same neighborhood, and on a few occasions, she sent me money for his upkeep, although that was before I got married to Adrian.
