Chapter 57

“Have you had a meal today?” Devon asked and Kiara shook her head, she got to reading the minute she returned from the run. Sucking his teeth, Devon shook his head in disapproval. “I’ll get you something to eat. Any preferences?”
“I am okay with whatever you choose.”
He eyed her suspiciously then nodded briefly and walked away. Once he was gone, Kiara shut the door and made herself comfortable on the bed. She wanted to ignore the book, at least until she ate, but at the sight of it, she immediately grabbed it and flipped to the page she left off.
