Chapter 55 Brody In Recovery

• His body ached. His arm hurt like it was going to fall off, and the side of his face was throbbing. But when Brody saw how worried Callie was, all he wanted was to pull her into his arms. Brody hated that he was the cause of her stress, and he hated it even more when he couldn't even calm her down.
• He wanted to laugh when Callie said that he looked terrible. It was Callie being her true self, but he was in too much pain to even sit up. Brody was half glad when the male nurse wheeled him away for the x-ray. He didn't want to appear vulnerable in front of her, and the accident was way too embarrassing for him that Brody knew she'd made him wear protective gear for future site inspections.
