Chapter 19 Stranger

• The day started with everything being off with her. She dreaded that she had to go to the silly women's luncheon, but Callie knows that it was what was expected of her from her parents. Now, more than ever because she was going to be married to Brody. She needs to fit with the lifestyle her mom had said, and Callie was pushing herself feeling like she was about to burst from the tension alone. For now, no one knows except for her, and Callie intended to keep it that way.
• The invitation that her mom had sent weeks ago was under her name, Callie Delaney Cromwell. But that's all that was right about the freaking day. First of all, she woke up late and hurriedly drove across town because she didn't want to come alone to the luncheon where everyone can be so judgemental with the likes of her. Yes, she wasn't born dripping with wealth and no matter how rich her family had become, the fact remains that her family was nouveau riche, new money. Whatever they called her family in soft whispers, it remained derogatory remarks that she would overhear from time to time.
• Callie had attended the luncheon with Corrine a couple of times before, and sometimes she envied her cousin for blending in so easily with the women there. Callie and Corrine arrived barely on time after she waited on her cousin and made sure that she was dressed and put on proper makeup for the luncheon. Her cousin had just got back from her short honeymoon trip. Corrine had grumbled all through the damn car ride, telling Callie that her new husband had a very strict training schedule for his football career.
