• As Hazel said, it got worse. It was as if someone had gathered all the workers and told them they had to be against me. Wherever I went, there were eyes on me and in the past few days, the people had become increasingly more vocal about their displeasure with my existence.
• ‘How can someone that moves like that be the princess?’ One worker whispered to another.
• ‘Did you see her the other day? When she returned at the crack of dawn with her hair tousled and a man’s scent all over her?’ The whispers were low but not low enough to not be heard. ‘It was like someone coming from a whore house.
