• “Shall we call Hazel in?” My mother asked as she held my hand, smiling into my face. “The poor child must be upset by now.”
• “Wait,” I rushed out as Asher got out of his seat. “Can we - I’m not sure it’s my place to ask this but can we keep it a secret from Hazel for the time being?”
• “What do you mean it’s not your place!?” The Alpha King demanded. “You can ask for anything you want and as far as it’s within my power to give it to you, you’ll receive it.” His fierce aura returned and I tried not to flinch. “Thankfully, your father is the Alpha King so what is outside of my power? There is nothing you want that I cannot give you, my child.”
