Chapter 19
- Our little pack had changed. It was never a bustling place but now, it felt too much like a ghost town. The weather had changed too. The nice, bright town had a gloomy quality to it now. The skies were grey and dark, as if a storm was coming but it had been days now and we only got wind; wind that got violent sometimes but there was no rain. Not even a drizzle.
- People did not leave their houses often and my neighbors, who seldom visited me, now never ventured close ever. Even the kids didn’t come this way. Since no one came to see me, I prepared my special pie that the women at the pack house loved and prepared to go see them.
- As soon as I stepped out of the house with the pie in hand, I met a man with his hands raised to knock. My wolf immediately perked up and let out a sigh. There was longing in that sigh.
